Heather: Surgical Assistant, Compression, CMA

Heather grew up in the state of Washington, eventually moving to Fairbanks in 2000.  She has been in the medical field for the past 25 years, focusing on pediatrics and family medicine.  She has worked with Dr. Roupenian in the past and has several years of experience working with patients with venous problems. Heather will be assisting with all aspects of patient care. Pre and post operatively she will be there for our patients to make sure they are comfortable and all of their needs are met.  She is a certified measurer and fitter for compression garments and has taken special interest in making sure patients are correctly fit and managed.  Heather is a nurturing, caring, supportive person who we are lucky to have for our patients. Heather and her husband, Jeff, live in the Valley and love golfing, running, traveling and being grandparents!

Claudia: Office Manager

The pleasant voice you will hear when you call our Center will be Claudia! Claudia is in charge of day-to-day operations at our Center. Claudia Cooper has joined our team as the Office Manager. Born and raised in Boise, Idaho, Claudia and her family of four moved to Alaska in 2011 and have settled in the Mat-Su Valley where Claudia met her fiancé Andy in 2012. Claudia and Andy are planning their wedding for May 2017. Claudia has worked in medical field for over 20 years. She worked for the Idaho state Board of Medicine, and has been an office manager for other medical practices. She is proud that one of her daughters is following in her footsteps. Claudia is an outgoing people person. She is wonderfully described by her daughter as happy, open minded, and strong supporter of those around her. Claudia and her family love to camp, fish, hunt, dance…

Hailey:  Scribe

Hailey: Scribe

Hailey has been a scribe for three years and is the friendly face in the corner typing away, often referred to as Dr. Roupenian's peripheral brain.  She has lived in Alaska since she was a little girl with her parents and younger brother.  She was raised in the valley but has since moved to Anchorage where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Alaska Anchorage.  She has been accepted into multiple physician assistant schools and will be leaving AKCVLM in May 2017.  Hailey plans to return to Alaska after completing physician assistant school and work as a primary care PA in rural locations.

Elsie:  Medical Assistant

Elsie: Medical Assistant

Elsie grew up in Northern California and moved to Haines, Alaska after graduating from UC Davis, where she played water polo and received her degree in Genetics and Genomics.  She is hoping to ultimately attend medical school via the WWAMI program.  She has a strong interest in global health and health care for underserved populations.  Heather has trained Elsie in compression and the two work closely in supporting all of the Center's patients.  Elsie enjoys the Alaskan outdoors, often hiking up a mountain before coming to work.  Her free spirit nature and eagerness to help makes her the perfect addition to our growing staff.

Tori:  CNA

Tori: CNA

Tori was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska.  She moved to Anchorage in 2015 to attend college at University of Alaska Anchorage, focusing on pre-reqs for nursing with plans on applying to nursing school in 2017.  She is caring and always has a positive attitude.  She will be assisting with all aspects of patient care and will be there to make ensure a comfortable experience for each patient.  She loves to read, go for hikes, spend time with friends and family, and travel.

Michelle:  Medical Assistant

Michelle has lived in Anchorage for the past 9 years after living in Nederland, Colorado and Juneau.  She graduated from Service High School in 2015 while attending a medical class at King Career Center.  Currently, she is in her second year at University of Alaska Anchorage where she is working towards her Bachelor's degree in nursing.  Michelle is caring and enthusiastic and loves patient care.  Michelle loves the outdoors, spending time hiking, running and traveling and being with family and friends.
